Pattern Curator Notes
Palampore is a traditional Indian printing technique that once was reserved only for the wealthy. It was also not worn, was used for bed covers. Today, palampore inspired patterns are still used for home textiles. For Spring / Summer 2020, there is such a big resurgence of folk and tradition, palampore is another way to create relevant prints. There is a hand painted quality to these florals, less wood blocky from seasons past. The imperfections of the line quality makes this feel exquisite and special. Colors are complimentary to each other with enough contrast to see the delicacy of the motif renderings.
