Pattern Curator Notes
Less woodblock and more Kashmir shawl inspired. It’s interesting how diverse the paisley is. Said to be named after a town in Scotland, known for as a motif for traditional British ties and a well-known motif in India & other Asian textiles. Adapted by pop culture through the Beatles and as one of the motifs of the hippie era. This go around, for SS 20, paisleys are much more delicate, intricate and detailed. Etro has done this forever and we are now seeing it come around on a mass market level - in a refined way, mixed with other patterns and as all-over layouts.
